Yu.P.Trutnev - The Representative of Russian President in the Far East and Governments of the Far East (Russia) provinces has working visit in Vietnam from March 14-15, the Economics and Urban Newspaper had a talk with Russian Deputy Prime Minister Yu.P.Trutnev about the issue of economic cooperation between the two sides.

According to Yu.P.Trutnev, Vietnam is now Russia's largest trading partner in the ASEAN region and the only strategic partner. In particular, Vietnam-Russia economic cooperation has been strengthened with four pillars: trade, investment, oil and gas, and electricity. Two-way trade has a tendency to increase, and forms of cooperation and investment are also increasingly diversified.

The first thing to do is to coordinate better the exchange of information to better tackle the differences between the two countries. For example, the two sides have cooperated effectively in the fields of oil and gas cooperation, energy and so on. Especially, in the Roundtable of Vietnam - Russia enterprises on March 14, Vietnam enterprises mentioned the cooperation on transportation, including seaports and transportation routes between the two countries.

He said: "In the field of tourism and agriculture, we also see many opportunities for the two sides. Is Vietnam a potential market? I think there must be two-way movement. Therefore, in my opinion, it is more attractive if we build factories or joint production facilities. And we also want to listen to the exchange from Vietnamese enterprises about how to cooperate effectively. I would also like Vietnamese companies to introduce similar projects to co-develop."
