The Hanoitimes - On April 18, the 10th ICA-AP Ministerial Conference in the Asia-Pacific Region was officially opened in Hanoi.
The ceremony saw the attendance of Vice President Dang Thi Ngoc Thinh, leaders of Vietnamese ministries, representatives from 94 member organizations and international organizations, and Vice Chairman of Hanoi People's Committee Nguyen Doan Toan.
Speaking at the meeting, Vice President Dang Thi Ngoc Thinh emphasized that Vietnam was honored to host of the 10th ICA-AP Ministerial Conference. With over 30 years of innovation, this is the time when Vietnam can contribute more effectively to ICA-AP, bringing practical benefits to cooperatives and people. In an increasingly cohesive world, the ICA-AP is facing new challenges in meeting the objectives of the 12th ICA-AP General Assembly. Is one of the important partners to achieve the goal of sustainable development set by the United Nations.
The 10th ICA-AP Ministerial Conference will take place from April 18 to 21 in Hanoi. Within the framework of the conference, there will be 6 sessions with specific topics. On April 18, two issues were discussed by the participants: ICA program and sustainable development goals, and the role of cooperatives as producers and consumers to ensure food sovereignty.
The four remaining sessions will be held on April 19, 20 and 21, respectively, including: accessing to health care, education, green economy, and especially caring women and youth; Public-Private Partnerships: Government and cooperatives are partners in sharing information and collaborating extensively to develop new approaches; Role of co-operatives in transition from the informal economy to the formal; Favorable environment for co-operatives to develop: Cooperative law, cooperative policies and regulations to promote cooperative growth and development.
