Hanoi: Industrial production index gains remarkable achievements in 2017

The Hanoitimes - Hanoi gained remarkable achievements of industrial production in 2017. Especially, in the last months of the year, the consumption and production index of industrial products witnessed a significant surge of 7.1%.
According to Hanoi Statistics Office, the industrial production index in December, 2017 rose by 4.8 percent in comparision with last month and 8.6 percent year on year, in which, manufacturing and processing industry increased by 5.2 percent and 9.6 percent; production and distribution of electricity, gas by 0.5 percent and 9 percent; water supply, sewage treatment and waste collection by 6.3 percent and 7.2 percent.
 


 

Thus, in 2017, industrial production index increased by 7.1 percent in comparison with the same period, in which, processing and manufacturing industries; production and distribution of electricity, gas; water supply, sewage treatment and waste collection increased by 7.7 percent, 8.3 percent and 5.1 percent respectively.

Generally, in 2017, some processing and manufacturing industries grew faster than the whole industrial sector’s expansion such as food processing (7.5 percent), beverage production (9.3 percent), textile (12.6 percent), pharmaceutical, pharmaceutical chemistry and herbal medicine production (13.2 percent), etc.

 


 
Especially, some production industries reached a significant growth in comparison to the same period, such as candies (21.5 percent), clothes (15.5 percent), wood processing (9.3 percent), furniture (61.1 percent), paper production (9.8 percent), etc.

The consumption index of the processing and manufacturing industry in 2017 was estimated to post a year on year surge of 59.8 percent, while, the inventory index witnessed a year on year decrease of 19.5 percent.

Additionally, the index of employment in industrial enterprises increased by 1 percent compared to the same period. Some industrial sectors recorded large fluctuation indexes, such as food processing (19.6 percent), electrical equipment production (7.8 percent), furniture (8.1 percent), etc.
