Hanoi's tourism industry is expected to create breakthroughs in both domestic and international market this year.
Therefore, “Hanoi - Destination of Vietnam” is chosen as the theme of VITM 2017, Deputy Chairman of Vietnam Tourism Association, Head of the fair's organising board Vu The Binh shared with a reporter of the Economis and Urban Newspaper.
At present, the capital of Hanoi owns many potentials to attract more international tourists, Binh noted.
The VITM 2017 is expected to feature 600 enterprises and tourism management and promotion agencies from 43 cities and provinces nationwide and 25 countries and territories. The fair hopes to attract some 60,000 visitors.
Beside organising activities to promote destination presentation and tourism stimulation from local exhibitors, the VITM also offers contests, traditional arts performances, conferences and workshops.
Organized the first time in 2013, the 5th VITM is considered Vietnam’s premier tourism event and one of the largest travel shows in the region.
Last year, Vietnam welcomed more than 10 million international arrivals, up 26 per cent year-on-year, according to the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism.

The VITM 2017 will not only provide thousands of promotional tour packages and low-cost air tickets, it will also bring the best opportunities to foreign tour operators and providers to promote destinations and seek new business deals.
The event will be also a good opportunity for Hanoi's green economy to attract more tourists as well as domestic and international strategic investors.
The VITM 2017 is extremely significant when Hanoi is making best efforts to reach the target of turning its tourism industry intioo a key economic sector by 2020.
