Hanoi - Warsaw intensify cooperation in many fields

The Hanoitimes - On March 29, Phung Thi Hong Ha - Vice Chairwoman of Hanoi People`s Council met and worked with the delegation of Warsaw City Council (Poland) led by its Vice Chairwoman Ewa Masny-Askanas to promote the cooperation.

At the reception, Vice Chairwoman Phung Thi Hong Ha highly appreciated the working visit of Warsaw City Council delegation which will contribute to promoting the bilateral relations between the two cities in particular and Vietnam and Poland in general.

According to Vice Chairwoman Phung Thi Hong Ha, Hanoi is an economic, political and cultural center of Viet Nam. In 2016, Hanoi’s gross domestic product (GDP) growth rate reached 8.03 percent – the highest over the past six years.

Hanoi is one of the oldest cities in all of Southeast Asia and a home to over 5,300 cultural historical relics, of which, there are four intangible cultural heritages recognized by UNESCO. “Hanoi expects to promote cooperation with Poland in terms of infrastructure, education, health, especially electronic information system, e-government,” she said.

For her part, Mrs. Ewa Masny-Askanas expressed her appreciation for the warm welcome and hospitality of Ha Noi Municipal People’s Council in particular and Hanoi City in general. She expressed her hope that the cooperation between the two countries as well as the two cities will be increasingly broaden in the future.

As for the preservation of cultural heritage, Phung Thi Hong Ha said that Hanoi is one of the cities with good tourist development. In Hanoi, there are more than 5,300 historical and cultural relics. Therefore, Ms. Phung Thi Hong Ha hopes that the two delegations will discuss specific issues in two working days of March 29-30. Through this, the two cities will understand each other better, contribute, exchange experience and increase cultural exchanges.
