The Hanoitimes - On April 1 morning, at the Hanoi Museum, the Economic and Urban Newspaper in coordination with the City`s Traffic Safety Committee, the Department of Transport and related industries will hold the Awarding Ceremony for the Contest of “For the Capital’s Traffic Safety 2016” and launch the competition "For the Capital’s Traffic Safety 2017".
Early in the morning, leaders from central agencies in Hanoi and many invited guests came to the Hanoi Museum (Pham Hung Street, Queu Cau Giay, Hanoi) to attend the ceremony.
The closing and awarding ceremony for the competition of "For the Capital’s Traffic Safety 2016" has been lively broadcasted on channel 1 of Hanoi Television Station.

This is the 5th consecutive year the competition has been held. The Contest of For the Capitals Traffic Safety 2016 has attracted people from all walks of the Capital's and Provinces' across the country.
Launched in 2011, up to now, the competition “For the Capital’s Traffic Safety 2016” held by Economic & Urban Newspaper collaborating with the City's Traffic Safety Committee, Department of Transport and related industries has received the attention and participation of numerous Capital’s people and provinces’ people across the country as well as foreigners who are working and living in the city.

In 2017, the National Traffic Safety Committee has set up the Traffic Safety Program 2017 under the theme "Building a Culture of Communication in Children and Youth" in the spirit of "Human's Life First". The target is to reduce from 5 to 10% of deaths and the number of people injured in traffic accidents compared to 2016.
In addition, the goal is to overcome traffic jams in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City as well as main traffic routes; Ensuring the absolute orderly traffic safety for the APEC Vietnam Year 2017 and other major political and social events of the country.
