Vietnam urban development association makes significant contributions to Hanoi's development

The Hanoitimes - This affirmation was heard by Chairman of the Hanoi People`s Committee Nguyen Duc Chung at a meeting with the Vietnam Urban Development and Planning Association and Vietnam Green Tree and Park Association on April 1.

Speaking at the meeting, Chairman of Vietnam Urban Development and Planning Association Tran Ngoc Chinh, said that the master plan for building of Hanoi to 2030 with a vision to 2050 approved by the Prime Minister in 2011 have been significantly contributed by planning experts, who are members of the Vietnam Urban Development and Planning Association.
Hanoi city has been implementing the master plan with the aims to develop a green, literature, civilized and modern capital, becoming a dynamic, effective and competitive city in the region and the world, he noted.
Moreover, the association has always paid attention to social issues such as urban green trees in Hanoi, and proposed many opinions with state management agencies and the city's authorities in reviewingn and implementing management solutions in accordance with legal documents and approved planning, according to Chinh.
Addressing the meeting, Chairman Nguyen Duc Chung informed about Hanoi's economic situation in the previous year and the firsr quarter of 2017.
According to the statistics, in the first quarter of 2017, Hanoi's  Gross Domestic Regional Product (GDRP) increased by 7,06%, higher than the same period of 2016. The growth rate of export was 2,1%, of which construction industry reached a increase of 6,99%, agriculture was 0,54% and the total sale of goods and services rose by 7,6%. The number of revenue collection reached 23.8% and most of the planned targets were implemented and achieved positive results.
Hanoi's indicator of PCI (Provincial Comparativeness Index) ranked fourteenth among sixty-three provinces, the highest rating that the city has reached so far.
During the working session, Chairman Chung and delegates exchanged many issues in the planning and the management of plans for construction, infrastructure development and urban transport infrastructure.
The Hanoi leader valued the sincere and enthusiasm comments of delegates and the positive assessments and the city's achievements over the past year. Chairman Chung affirmed that these achievements have been contributed positively by the association in the process of developing the capital city.

According to the Chairman, the association's members are former predecessors, generations of former Hanoi leaders, professors, doctors, especially specialists, who have many experience and had directly joined he leadership and administration in planing in general and urban n particular.
Recognizing the asociation's recommendations, Chairman Chung suggested the Vietnam Urban Development and Planning Association and architects to  participate in commenting on Hanoi's planning projects, especially important plans in the time ahead.
To achieve the goal, the Chairman hoped that in the coming time, the exchange of information between the association and the city would be more frequent, thus serving its socio-economic development tasks, especially in the urban development and planning,  and urban order restoration.
