Hanoi: creating favorable conditions for religions

The Hanoitimes - On April 3, Chairman of Hanoi People`s Committee Nguyen Duc Chung had a meeting with Pastor John Chadwick Hanmond - Director of Asian Events, Samaritan`s Purse and Pastor Nguyen Huu Mac - Pastor of Vietnam Protestant Church (North).
At the reception, Pastor John Chadwick Hanmond thanked the city's leaders for their time to welcome the delegation and expressed their delight at seeing the Hanoi Capital more and more green and more beautiful from the program of planting 1 million trees.

"Yesterday I just came to the Royal City, that is so beautiful, clean space and feel like in Paris (France)," said Pastor John Chadwick Hanmond about the purpose of the visit, information on the activities of the church over the past time, what to do in the coming time.

Pastor John Chadwick Hanmond thanked the Hanoi leadership for their support on the International Protestant Church as well as the Northern Vietnamese Protestant Church in good faith and faithful activities for the past time. On this occasion, the Pastor sent the invitation of Dr. John Frankinlin Gramham to Hanoi leaders to visit the United States in 2017.

Welcoming the delegation's visit, Chairman Nguyen Duc Chung informed about the socio-economic situation of Hanoi in 2016, growing more than 8.2%; In Q1 of 2017, growth continued to increase by over 7% over the same period last year; the City ensures social security, the rate of poor households in 2016 decreased 1.3% (currently 2.7%). Social stability, security and order are maintained, the material and spiritual life of people are raised. According to Chairman of the City People's Committee, in order to achieve that result, there are contributions of religious organizations, religious people.
Thanks to the support of Samaritan's Purse humanitarian organization with many meaningful philanthropic activities, Chairman Nguyen Duc Chung highly appreciated the contributions of the Vietnamese Protestant community in the construction and development of the Capital. At the mean time affirming the Party, State of Vietnam as well as the City government, always create conditions for religious organizations to work faithful to meet the needs of religion.

"The City will create conditions for the Church to successfully organize celebrations of 500 years of reform of the Church - the important event of the Protestant people," said the Chairman of the City, while also blessing Pastor John Chadwick Hanmond and the delegation will have a good trip in Vietnam. Chairman Nguyen Duc Chung appreciated and accepted the invitation to visit the headquarters of Samaritan's Purse in the United States at the appropriate time.
