More efforts to popularize food safety in Hanoi

The Hanoitimes - After one year of implementing Prime Minister Directive 13/CT-TTg on increasing state management of food safety, Hanoi witnesses significant progress, in particular in the field of popularization.



 

In effort to realize Directive of the Prime Minister, many food safety popularization activities are conducted in Hanoi. Articles on food safety are publicized in Lunar New Year, New Year’s Eve and spring festivals, especially in peak season of methanol poisoning prevention and Action Month for Food Safety 2017. Along with information work, there are popularization of legal regulations on food safety, news and programs on Hanoi Radio and Television, articles on the Urban & Economic Newspaper, and columns of food safety on health magazine. 2,431 articles on food safety are publicized in the districts, towns, communes, wards and towns.

Furthermore, the city’s agencies sign commitments, conduct training to popularize food safety knowledge for food establishment owners and workers, and training classes for food safety officers and steering committees. Popularization and discussion on food safety are organized for union members and consumers, attracting 21,346 people. Banners and posters are hung, along with leaflets and CDs.


 

Radios of communes, wards and township provide information about food safety, especially on the occasion of Lunar New Year, New Year’s Eve, spring festivals and Action Month for Food Safety.

Grassroots agencies proactively increase in-depth food safety popularization. In the first six months of 2017, Steering Committees for Food Safety at all levels organize 165 conferences on food safety, attracting 6,905 people. Workshops and launching ceremonies of Action Month for Food Safety campaign are organized in city’s districts, suburban districts, towns, communes, wards and townships, drawing participation of 19,020 people.
