Mr. Jon Gibbs expressed his hope that the Vietnamese PM and Government will create favorable conditions for its cooperative projects with the Vietnam National Oil and Gas Group (PetroVietnam), bringing benefits for both. He suggested the Government consider and facilitate cooperative projects to build power plants in Vietnam to shorten the implementation period.
The PM said the Government approved the planning scheme for the Gas Treatment and Power Centre in the central region, including projects in the central provinces of Quang Nam and Quang Ngai, asking to ensure environmental protection and local people’ welfare.
He demanded ExxonMobil continue close coordination with the Electricity of Vietnam and the Ministry of Industry and Trade to guaranty the rate of progress of these projects. Established in 1859, ExxonMobil is the largest refiner in the world, with 37 oil refineries in 21 countries with a combined daily refining capacity of 6.3 million barrels.
